Today was a good day. This morning was a shop, trucking, and office morning. We had a great lunch with about 13 of our farmer friends at Parky’s in Lebanon. It was really nice to just enjoy each other and share thoughts and scriptures that encourage us as we face a tough year of farming. This afternoon we moved the combines to one of our wheat fields to give it a try…fully expecting it to be too wet. Pioneer has allowed us to cut it when it is below 17%, and sure enough, it was about 17 when we started. Tony and I ran the combines, Trent ran the auger cart and Jeff and Brian ran the trucks. We were able to finish that field about 10:30 tonight. 77 acres that made about 88 bushels per acre of wheat. I have never cut wheat when the ground was so muddy, but the wheat itself was ready.
